This is a shell of Naria erosa (Linnaeus, 1758) found in the Izu Oshima Island, Japan (Link to [A102302] to see the original apparence of this species). Naria erosa, common name the gnawed or eroded cowry, is a type of sea snail known as the “cowries”, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Cypraeidae.
